My Clone

Me and Susan wore same color on Sunday and i decided to take this pic... :)

We only have the people around us for a season. I learnt that recently when Ling Ling left. It was a busy season for both of us and we always try to make time to meet up for a meal and stuff. Unknowingly, she became part of my life and routine that i will call her and find out how she's doing in school every week. I teared a bit when i tot of it the night before she left. So treasure the people and relationship.
Your grace is enough
More than I need
At your word I will believe
I’ll wait for you
Draw near again
And your spirit made me new

Your presence in me
Jesus lead the way
By the power of your word
I am restored
I am redeemed
By your spirit I am free

And I will fall at your feet
I will fall at your feet
And I will worship you here

Freely you gave it all for us
Surrendered your life upon that cross
Great is the love
Poured out for all
This is our God

Lifted on high from death to life
Forever our God is glorified
Servant and king rescued the world
This is our God

Sometimes I don understand why come people can throw their tantrum at you when they are down. And they expect u to be able to take it. If you can’t take it you are either weak or unforgiving. Another moment when they decided that they are ok again, they come to you and tried to be nice and they also expect u to switch to their mood immediately if not you are holding resentment and unforgiving.

Jaded.
Tired.
I need jogging.
I need fresh air.
I need God's strength.
I need anointing.
I need wisdom.
I need understanding.
And understanding from someone.

Special Entry for Cai XingNi, Alan Chan and Evelyn Tan

Tips to Chase away the Blue Spirit

1. Check for eyestrain by putting your hand to your forehead in a salute. If your eyes feel relieved, your work space is too bright.

2. Sit up straight with your shoulders down — every time I adjust my sitting position, I instantly feel more energetic and cheerier.

3. Get a phone headset. I resisted for a long time, because it looks so preposterous, but it’s really much more comfortable. Also, it lets me pace while I talk on the phone, which also looks preposterous, but is energizing.

4. Don’t keep candy on your desk. Studies show that people are much more likely to snack when a treat is within easy reach, and a handful of M&Ms each day could mean a weight gain of five pounds by year’s end.

5. Never say “yes” on the phone; instead, say, “I’ll get back to you.” When you’re actually speaking to someone, the desire to be accommodating is very strong, and can lead you to say “yes” without enough consideration. Along the same lines…

6. When deciding whether to say “yes,” imagine that you’re accepting a job that you’ll have to do next week. Don’t agree to something just because it seems so far off that it doesn’t seem onerous.

7. Don’t let yourself get too hungry. My husband goes without eating for hours and hours at a time, so once, trying to be helpful, I bought him a big bag of granola to keep in his desk. He ate the whole bag in one day and ended up sick as a dog. Lesson: eat regularly.

8. Take care of difficult calls, tasks, or emails as quickly as possible. Procrastinating makes them harder; getting them done gives a big boost of relieved energy.

9. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, think hard about how you spend your time. Be honest. How much time do you spend surfing the internet, looking for things you’ve misplaced, or doing a task that’s really someone else’s job? Also…

10. Let yourself stay ignorant of things you don’t need to know.

11. Go outside at least once a day, and if possible, take a walk. The sunlight and activity is good for your focus, mood, and retention of information.

12. Say “Good morning” to everyone. Social contact is cheering, and if you feel that you’re on good terms with all the people in your office, you’ll be happier each day. Also, it’s polite.

Being Well Read

I was having a conversation with Weijun this morning. He is another morning person i know. We were in the topic of reading books. I always feel that wj is much of a thinker. We were talking bout how important reading is and it really adds value to a person. But read and PRACTICE.

I am reading a book "Audacity of HOPE" by Barack Obama, first African American to become President of US. I am not that sort of person who is interested in politics. But after reading his book, my mindset changed. What stir me to buy this book is because my dad has a copy and my intention was to have a good conversation and a common topic. It was difficult reading his book coz the language he used is a bit chim but i learnt a few new words... what i called the "politics lingo". Ha! Can talk to my dad.

The conversation i have with my dad.. 3 things: 1) Family 2) Business 3) Politics. He will chat with me late into the nights about people, gossips and the actual stories which are always different from what the newspapers said. And i do miss him. Pretty interesting though!

I am on the chapter "VALUE".
- It becomes tempting to assume that those who disagree with you have fundamentally different values - indeed, they are motivated by bad faith, and perhaps are bad people.
- It is that language of values that people use to map their world.
- Values should be the heart of politics, the cornerstone of any meaningful debate about budgets and projects, regulations and policies.
- Change the values in people if we really want the kind of society we want.
- Values of hard work and delayed gratification?
- A sense of empathy - a value. A call to stand in somebody else's shoes and see through their eyes. Obama's mother always get him to ask himself this " How do you think that would make you feel?"

"If we aren't willing to pay a price for our values, if we aren't willing to make sacrifices in order to realize them, then we should ask ourselves whether we TRULY believe in them at all. We hang on to our values, even if they seem at times tarnished and worn; even if, as a nation and in our own lives, we have betrayed them more often than we care to remember. Those values are our INHERITANCE, what makes us who we are as a people. we recognized that they are subjected to challenge, can be poked and prodded and debunked and turned inside out by intellectuals and cultural critics, they have proven to be both surprisingly durable and surprisingly constant across classes. and races, and faiths, and generations." Audacity of Hope, Barack Obama.

I don't get to spend a lot of time with my dad as a child. But one value that he taught me was the value of hard work and delayed gratification. Which stands till today.

In my busy schedule, i will remember my CORGI... heh... I really think she's overweight. I went jogging the other night and i saw this corgi. It looks really smart.. But my JW corgi looks a bit clumsy... lie down everywhere. But i heart my corgi!

The very piggy look of hers. See her fatss...

Corgi looking out for friends who were in for their grooming sessions...

First time corgi has strength to lift up her ears.. Look at her legs.. short and cute.

This was cute. Coz she was attempting to make friend with this poodle but the poodle was dragge away for her grooming session.... and the ear fell... haha

I am happy to be chilling out w twins and RZ yesterday aft my very last service of the day @ Expo. Anyways, the drama was really good. I thought this week is gona b so busy that i won't get to see them and i feel short-changed. But i think i really paced myself very well this Easter. As in i rest well, eat well, exercise well. It was packed and busy looking after kids again. BUT it was relaxing! :)

And i sa the name "Evelyn" nev bother to check the surname and i just went into the class. Think bout it, I am glad it happened, if not i won't get to meet her.

Ron was a drunk yday and roland took his arms and put it around his shoulder.. so sweet right. Nowadays u seldom see siblings being so close to one another. I miss my brothers all of a sudden... hmmmm...

Caleb Toh becomes Car Lip Toh.
Evelyn Tan becomes if-Fling-Tan.

Received a call from Jennifer last night and i really miss her. She was my secondary school best friend. We kinda lost contact with one another for a while but thank God it is easy for us to connect again. I really thought it is impossible for us to talk again coz we've not been talking for long time i presumed coz we went to different schools and all and the topic will change a bit coz i don know her friends and she don't know mine. But i decided to contact her after talking to yy coz he asked me why am i not talking to Jen anymore. I told him there are friends you just got nothing to talk to anymore. Thanks to him for asking me. But i am happy that i actually tried contacting her and found out that she was leacing for aussie on time. An we started talking again...

I will always remember the days when we pia ten-year series together and how we will attempt all the A and E maths qns. ha. It was really fun.

Being "Carpous"

I usually just read the new word sent to me daily. But this word got me thinking... we can't be "acarpousing"... we need to be "carpous"... some of my friends will scream "bad english" here haha...

A.Word.A.Day
with Anu Garg

acarpous

PRONUNCIATION:
(ay-KAHR-puhs)

MEANING:
adjective: Not producing fruit; sterile.

ETYMOLOGY:
From Greek akarpos, from a- (not) + karpos (fruit). Ultimately from the Indo-European root kerp- (to gather or harvest) which is also the source of harvest, excerpt, carpet, and scarce.
