Race

Not forgetting the unglam picture... Eve w/o make up... slouching shoulder... Oh! I didn't sleep the entire night! coz i was worried bout certain things. But i still made it through. :)

Went for Army Half Marathon run last Sunday. 21km. completed in 2hr 30min. Not Bad! 1 hour faster than last year.

And i didn't really train at all coz nowadays my jogging timing has reduced to max 45mins coz i really have no time for it.

The difference is that i have 2 good friends running together. I was alone last year coz my sis and her friend were late and they asked me to go ahead w/o them. It was all BORING.

When i was running, i was reminded of the different Race of Life all of us have to go through in our life. And Phil Pringle's words came to my mind "No trials last forever, you just have to keep on walking...".

In the beginning of the race, i told twins that i will follow their speed and asked them to just maintain. Haha.. But of coz they slowed down in the end coz i was really tired.

And throughout the race we looked out for one another just to ensure we stay close and i think they are nice coz roland stayed behind me i think just to ensure i don't go missing. heh... And we kept looking at the sign board which tell us how much we have covered. Ron will turn back and say "10 more to go, 8 more to go, 6 more to go.... ". And i will be like "ya man.." and feel encouraged. And Roland will say "wa li peng eh zhao ah... (means u can actually run pretty well in Hokkien)"... and i will laugh at the way he put things to be.

Towards the last few km of the race, there are sign boards with encouraging words printed on it. And it reminded me how God will throw His words and verses into our hearts at times. when we see no end to the trials. when we see no end to the ever rising waters. when we see no end to the puddles upon puddles of mud.

Towards the last part when we begin to see the finishing line, Ron turned back and said "wa, this is the easiest part liao.." Ya man... when we can see the finishing line, everything will become so much easier.

And Woo Hoo! I got my medal again this year! Not all bout the medal, but it is about completing the race. It was FUN. =)
