Heart in the Throat
And i went jogging.
And i took my dinner.
And i packed my schedule for the next few days.
And i tried calling Jen in Aussie and i went into the mail box for 3 times with the all familiar voice."Hi, Jennifer here! I will call you back as soon as possible. Thanks!" Think Jennifer has this soothing voice going on.
in a complication
yesterday i decided i should just call MOE and not wait for the letter and tada.... i got rejected. Mixture of emotions. Of coz i am sad and down and every word you can think of when u r in the valley but at the same time i was thinking at least i know this door is really closed for me coz i really really tried all ways... Oh well i can say with all the retrenchments going on, there are definitely a lot of good people applying with me at the same time but still i believe if it is meant to be it will be.
Arg. so what now? continue w SIM? i hate this kind of thinking game. Jen, how?
But still i think i will try again. coz i really want that cert and that experience...

RomansChapterEightVerseTwentyEightSays....
I was reading Audacity of Hope and this verse came into my mind. I was on the part whereby the author came across a claim that while in the state legislature he voted against a bill to "protect our children from sex offenders." Of course he was like "what the...???" However someone said to him "Anyway, cheer up, I'm sure this will help you with the sex offender vote."
AND that's how Rom8:28 came to my mind. Yah. All things will somehow work together for those who love God. :) Even if u can't see that it is working. Romans is one of my favourite books in the Bible.
My weekend...:)
Night out on Thurs with twins wj and bl... I ordered this Hoegaarden Forbidden Fruit... look at the glass. I like it... It is Adam offering Eve a glass of something. :)
And Sunday... we went to a wedding and the lovely Xingni caught the flower.. So she is going to get married next!!! And it is purple flower... :) and on and on Kelvin kept reminding me that i am not young anymore... duh... i will get married before 30. To a good man. and be very happy.
And off we go to Vivo to hang out... HOT day so i decided to abandon my all time food latte and have this all time fattening ice blended something...
And the 2 of them joined in... Alan looks like a mushroom. no Mario. i always like pictures with alan popping out from somewhere coz he has the most interesting facial expression. haha... I love alan.Pastor was taking bout beign forgiving and forgetting and moving on. But really sometimes we get stuck in a trench and couldn't get out and watch people moving on with their life with us sulking at the corner. One thing that i ask of God is that i will be more forgetful. Ah... My manager is right. Emotion is a prize for women but can be our greatest enemy too. Let me choose to forgive and forget and be someone with a BIG heart, someone who always move to greater heights. :)

A cuppa plain latte which never fail to make me happy! :) I can't wait to try Melbourne latte. Whenever i drink lattes, i will think of Jennifer!Haven been blogging for quite sometime was really busy with work! And i was like "Phew...!!!" it's Labour Day = Long weekend = going out = sleep = long jog = chill and book and latte... And i received a sms that we r having external audit next week. There goes my weekends.. ARG...so Xingni, you r definitely not alone working hard.. :)
Being in the ministry for 6 years, you start to appreciate people more. Especially those who walk with you even through the fire. Even when u r in the valley somehow they trust you although you have bruises everywhere and really look pathetic and cannot make it. There are people who come, there and people who go and it is through time when loyalty is tested and proven. There are people who always feel that you haven done enough to help them but they never spare a though to ponder on this question "how can i help MYSELF". There are people who are so so independant that they refuse the help of others.

My Clone
Me and Susan wore same color on Sunday and i decided to take this pic... :)We only have the people around us for a season. I learnt that recently when Ling Ling left. It was a busy season for both of us and we always try to make time to meet up for a meal and stuff. Unknowingly, she became part of my life and routine that i will call her and find out how she's doing in school every week. I teared a bit when i tot of it the night before she left. So treasure the people and relationship.
More than I need
At your word I will believe
I’ll wait for you
Draw near again
And your spirit made me new
Your presence in me
Jesus lead the way
By the power of your word
I am restored
I am redeemed
By your spirit I am free
And I will fall at your feet
I will fall at your feet
And I will worship you here
Freely you gave it all for us
Surrendered your life upon that cross
Great is the love
Poured out for all
This is our God
Lifted on high from death to life
Forever our God is glorified
Servant and king rescued the world
This is our God
Sometimes I don understand why come people can throw their tantrum at you when they are down. And they expect u to be able to take it. If you can’t take it you are either weak or unforgiving. Another moment when they decided that they are ok again, they come to you and tried to be nice and they also expect u to switch to their mood immediately if not you are holding resentment and unforgiving.

Special Entry for Cai XingNi, Alan Chan and Evelyn Tan
1. Check for eyestrain by putting your hand to your forehead in a salute. If your eyes feel relieved, your work space is too bright.
2. Sit up straight with your shoulders down — every time I adjust my sitting position, I instantly feel more energetic and cheerier.
3. Get a phone headset. I resisted for a long time, because it looks so preposterous, but it’s really much more comfortable. Also, it lets me pace while I talk on the phone, which also looks preposterous, but is energizing.
4. Don’t keep candy on your desk. Studies show that people are much more likely to snack when a treat is within easy reach, and a handful of M&Ms each day could mean a weight gain of five pounds by year’s end.
5. Never say “yes” on the phone; instead, say, “I’ll get back to you.” When you’re actually speaking to someone, the desire to be accommodating is very strong, and can lead you to say “yes” without enough consideration. Along the same lines…
6. When deciding whether to say “yes,” imagine that you’re accepting a job that you’ll have to do next week. Don’t agree to something just because it seems so far off that it doesn’t seem onerous.
7. Don’t let yourself get too hungry. My husband goes without eating for hours and hours at a time, so once, trying to be helpful, I bought him a big bag of granola to keep in his desk. He ate the whole bag in one day and ended up sick as a dog. Lesson: eat regularly.
8. Take care of difficult calls, tasks, or emails as quickly as possible. Procrastinating makes them harder; getting them done gives a big boost of relieved energy.
9. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, think hard about how you spend your time. Be honest. How much time do you spend surfing the internet, looking for things you’ve misplaced, or doing a task that’s really someone else’s job? Also…
10. Let yourself stay ignorant of things you don’t need to know.
11. Go outside at least once a day, and if possible, take a walk. The sunlight and activity is good for your focus, mood, and retention of information.
12. Say “Good morning” to everyone. Social contact is cheering, and if you feel that you’re on good terms with all the people in your office, you’ll be happier each day. Also, it’s polite.

Being Well Read
I am reading a book "Audacity of HOPE" by Barack Obama, first African American to become President of US. I am not that sort of person who is interested in politics. But after reading his book, my mindset changed. What stir me to buy this book is because my dad has a copy and my intention was to have a good conversation and a common topic. It was difficult reading his book coz the language he used is a bit chim but i learnt a few new words... what i called the "politics lingo". Ha! Can talk to my dad.The conversation i have with my dad.. 3 things: 1) Family 2) Business 3) Politics. He will chat with me late into the nights about people, gossips and the actual stories which are always different from what the newspapers said. And i do miss him. Pretty interesting though!
I am on the chapter "VALUE".
- It becomes tempting to assume that those who disagree with you have fundamentally different values - indeed, they are motivated by bad faith, and perhaps are bad people.
- It is that language of values that people use to map their world.
- Values should be the heart of politics, the cornerstone of any meaningful debate about budgets and projects, regulations and policies.
- Change the values in people if we really want the kind of society we want.
- Values of hard work and delayed gratification?
- A sense of empathy - a value. A call to stand in somebody else's shoes and see through their eyes. Obama's mother always get him to ask himself this " How do you think that would make you feel?"
"If we aren't willing to pay a price for our values, if we aren't willing to make sacrifices in order to realize them, then we should ask ourselves whether we TRULY believe in them at all. We hang on to our values, even if they seem at times tarnished and worn; even if, as a nation and in our own lives, we have betrayed them more often than we care to remember. Those values are our INHERITANCE, what makes us who we are as a people. we recognized that they are subjected to challenge, can be poked and prodded and debunked and turned inside out by intellectuals and cultural critics, they have proven to be both surprisingly durable and surprisingly constant across classes. and races, and faiths, and generations." Audacity of Hope, Barack Obama.
I don't get to spend a lot of time with my dad as a child. But one value that he taught me was the value of hard work and delayed gratification. Which stands till today.
In my busy schedule, i will remember my CORGI... heh... I really think she's overweight. I went jogging the other night and i saw this corgi. It looks really smart.. But my JW corgi looks a bit clumsy... lie down everywhere. But i heart my corgi!
